I want to spend this week focused on anxiety — where it comes from, how it works and how to navigate it. Because as a business owner, it's a feeling I can guarantee you will feel at some point, possibly right now.
What is anxiety? It's a feeling of worry, nervousness, or unease about something with an uncertain outcome.
Here are some things you can do to manage anxiety:
1. Define your anxiety — how does it feel to you? Sit with it. Be with it. Allow it in. Quite literally what does it feel like to you.
2. Why do you feel anxious? What thoughts or ideas are spinning around in your head that is making you feel anxious?
3. Write them down. All those thoughts in your head, just barf them out on a piece of paper.
4. Don't judge those thoughts or beat yourself up for feeling the way you do. The job ends when the paper is full. That's it. You don't even need to read it over. But you do need to fill an entire page. 1 full page.
I guarantee you will feel better. Just by going through this exercise.
